Everyone longs for lasting happiness; however, the happiness we do experience is only short-term. All too often, we are anxious, frustrated, and even depressed. Some people feel that lasting happiness is simply not possible, but according to Buddha, we are simply looking for happiness in the wrong place. Happiness is a state of mind; but rather than focus on the mind, we seek happiness in external things – in jobs, relationships, possessions, and so on. Only if the mind itself is happy will these external things contribute to our happiness. The key to happiness lies in cultivating peaceful, positive minds and meditation is a simple, effective method for doing so.
In this free talk, we will learn how to develop happiness through meditation and maintain it in our daily life. In particular, we will learn how we can begin to respond to all situations, including problems, with a peaceful, creative mind. In this way, we will understand through our own experience how it is possible to attain a lasting happiness.
Pre-registration is not necessary. Everyone is welcome!

A NEW PERSPECTIVE ON LOVE
Training in the Three Types of Love
with Donna Campanelli
Kadam Morten will return for Free Public Talk on January 29th
Kick off the new year by improving our relationships. Love, at its purest and deepest state of being, is a way of relating to the world that allows us to see the beauty in everyone and everything. Love takes us on a journey towards our own enlightenment and empowers us to see that potential for enlightenment in others. To be able to experience such a pure love, we need to practice it. In particular, we need to learn to let go of the grasping and manipulative minds of attachment that undermine our relationships and instead train in the three types of love. In this course, we will explore these levels of love: affectionate, cherishing and wishing; and learn how to apply them to all our relationships.
Pre-registration not necessary. Everyone is welcome!
